Algérie Poste uses an internationally recognised format:
13 characters total
Starts with two letters
Followed by nine digits
Ends with “DZ” (the country code for Algeria)
Example:
EE987654321DZ
Make sure you type the code exactly as shown, including the final “DZ”.
As your package moves through the network, you’ll typically see statuses like:
Sent Out – the item has been shipped from the origin office.
In Transit – moving between processing centres.
At Customs, international items are being checked and cleared.
Local Hub – arrived at a sorting centre near the delivery address.
Out for Delivery – the courier is delivering the package.
Delivered – successfully handed over.
On Hold – issue with address, payment, or documentation.
Return to Sender – unable to deliver after several attempts.
These updates help you understand exactly where your item is in the delivery chain.
Arrival times vary depending on the service type and destination:
Domestic deliveries: usually 1–7 days, faster in main cities and longer for remote areas.
International deliveries:
To UPU member countries: 2–3 days (EMS),
Other destinations: 1–3 weeks, depending on customs clearance.
Algiers → Oran: often 1–2 days
Algeria → Europe (EMS): 2–4 days
Delays may occur during holidays, high-volume seasons, or customs inspections.
Algérie Poste offers a range of mailing and logistics options:
Standard Mail – affordable services for letters and documents.
Parcel Delivery – for packages up to 25kg with optional speed upgrades.
Financial Services – money orders, bill payments, and postal accounts.
EMS (Express Mail Service) – fast international shipping with global tracking.
Each service includes different tracking visibility and delivery speeds.
If your tracking isn’t updating or showing errors, here are common reasons and fixes:
No updates for a while – item may be travelling between hubs; check again later.
Tracking not recognised – recheck the code, especially the final “DZ”.
Delayed delivery – often caused by customs or heavy seasonal loads.
Marked delivered but missing – check with neighbours or your building guard before reporting.
Damaged package – take photos immediately and report to the nearest post office.
Wrong address – contact the post office quickly; changes may not be possible once in transit.
